13 year old murder case rocks Singapore
News of a 35-year-old man, Ahmad Danial Bin Mohamed Rafa’ee, charged for the death of a 19-year-old girl who has been “missing” for 13 years has rocked Singapore.
Danial is facing charges for causing the death of Teo Wei Ling on June 30, 2007. The murder took place sometime between 1:39 am, and 7:20 am. The accused goes by the nickname of Danial Enemiko. Danial appeared in court yesterday the 17th of December via video link. His hair was a mess, and he had a piece of paper pasted on his glasses.
The act causing her death was not specified in the charge sheet. Danial allegedly murdered Ms Teo with suspected accomplice Ragil Putra Setia Sukmarahjana, now 32.
According to a police press release, Mr Ragil is currently not in Singapore. Police are trying to locate him.
The victim, Felicia first missing on 3rd July 2007
Ms Teo would have been 32 this year. She was first reported missing on Jul 3, 2007, by her mother.
Despite extensive investigations at the time, the police were unable to locate her. A police statement at that time states that her last whereabouts was at Ragil’s home in Marine Terrace.
Police at that time did interview both men, Danial and Ragil. However, the two men maintained that Ms Teo had left the flat in the wee hours of Jun 30, 2007, of her own accord.
The police were unable to find any incriminating after a search of the unit. A check on closed-circuit television footage in the area also did not reveal any leads.
Previous media reports in 2007 state that Ms Teo was taking a diploma at the Lasalle College of the Arts.
Danial arrested by CID
In July 2020, the police initiated a review of the case. The case was referred to CID as it had remained unsolved for an extended period of time.
CID uncovered a new lead while tracing the properties which were believed to be in Teo’s possession when she was reported missing.
CID did manage to link one of the properties to Danial and arrested him on Tuesday (December 15, 2020) concerning Teo’s disappearance.
According to preliminary investigations, Teo’s murder took place before the report was lodged on July 3, 2007. Investigations also revealed that Danial had allegedly disposed of her body subsequently with Ragil.
The police are still searching for Teo’s remains.
Background of Danial Enemiko
Although his Linkedin profile had been taken down, we were able to find more info from Rocket Reach. His Facebook profile is also no longer available.
Danial even appeared on TV in 2010 for a photography reality show titled “The Big Shot“.
A quick check online shows Danial married. Razer Inc currently employs him as a Creative Manager.
Well known Singapore Forum, Hardware Zone had the local internet sleuths buzzing. Some contributors shared information on his family background and job. Some also pointed out that Danial is the older sibling of Singapore National rower, Saiyidah Aisyah. We were unable to confirm this information.
