Telkomsel Enhances Nusantara Network Service
As a leading digital telecommunications provider in Indonesia, Telkomsel plays a pivotal role in supporting government programs. This includes the 79th Independence Day celebration themed “New Nusantara, Advanced Indonesia” on August 17 in the Capital of Nusantara (IKN). Telkomsel ensures network readiness and service quality for the event.
To enhance telecommunication services in IKN, Telkomsel has deployed 49 state-of-the-art Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) with 5G and 4G technology in key areas. These areas include the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) and other supporting regions.
Telkomsel has also ensured seamless connectivity for customers entering the IKN area. Its done so by optimizing networks in the two supporting cities of Balikpapan and Samarinda. This effort covers 10 specific areas such as airports, shopping centers, accommodations, and main roads connecting these cities to IKN.
Indra Mardiatna, Director of Network at Telkomsel, stated, “By ensuring the optimization of our leading broadband network, we commit to providing convenient communication access in the Capital of Nusantara and supporting digital transformation across various sectors. Telkomsel promises full network services and support in Nusantara Indonesia before IKN
In addition to network readiness, Telkomsel has prepared various digital products and services to ensure smooth communication and optimal digital experiences. Customer service centers in various locations have been set up. These include booths at Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan. Furthermore, more booths have been set up at GraPARI Nusantara at the IKN Construction Worker Housing (HPK).
These customer service points offer various services such as data package and physical voucher purchases. They also handle prepaid and eSIM card purchases, as well as replacements for lost or damaged cards. Customers can upgrade to uSIM 4G/LTE cards and register for new postpaid Telkomsel Halo services. Additionally, these points offer Orbit modem purchases, IndiHome services, Telkomsel Poin redemptions, 5G network activation, and other Telkomsel products and services designed for easy access.
“All our initiatives, aim to provide smooth and efficient communication experiences to meet the digital needs of all customers in IKN. These range from leading broadband network readiness to various innovative products and services. This also demonstrates IKN’s readiness as the future capital to realize ‘New Nusantara, Advanced Indonesia’,” concluded Indra.
