Comfort DelGro Launches One of Singapore’s Largest EV Automotive Centres

Comfort DelGro Engineering (CDGE) has officially opened one of Singapore’s largest integrated automotive engineering centres, marking a major milestone in the city-state’s shift toward electric mobility. The five-storey, 27,400-square-metre facility at 320 Ubi Road 3 is designed to expand CDGE’s capabilities in servicing the growing population of electric vehicles (EVs) and strengthen the Group’s position as a leader in sustainable transport.

The new centre features over 260 vehicle bays, 58 EV charging points, and dedicated battery storage rooms. It is equipped to handle the full spectrum of EV services, from high-voltage battery diagnostics to system repairs and charging solutions. The scale and advanced technology of the facility ensure that Comfort DelGro is well-prepared to support the evolving needs of Singapore’s automotive sector.

Expanding Capacity for Electric Vehicle Services

With 43 percent of new car registrations in Singapore now electric, the demand for advanced EV services is increasing rapidly. CDGE’s new facility addresses this need by providing enhanced maintenance, charging, and repair capabilities under one roof. The centre allows for faster turnaround times and higher service efficiency for both the Group’s fleet and external customers.

Ang Soo Hock, CEO of Comfort DelGro Engineering, said, “Electric mobility is reshaping the transport landscape, and the new automotive centre enables us to respond with the right tools, skills, and technology under one roof. As we build on our strong engineering DNA with future-ready capabilities, we are well-placed to support the Group and the nation in the journey towards a more sustainable future.”

Developing the Next Generation of EV Specialists

The automotive centre also houses the Comfort DelGro Engineering Academy, offering programs under Singapore’s Land Transport Authority National Electric Vehicle Specialist Safety initiatives. The Academy trains technicians in handling EV systems safely and efficiently, preparing a workforce capable of supporting the transition to electric mobility. By combining training with state-of-the-art infrastructure, Comfort DelGro is ensuring that its personnel are equipped to meet the technical demands of the EV era.

Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability remains at the heart of Comfort DelGro’s operations. The company already operates a fleet where 66 percent of vehicles are powered by cleaner energy. Its new facility further strengthens this commitment with EV-ready infrastructure designed to reduce emissions and improve energy efficiency. Comfort DelGro has also expanded into renewable energy initiatives, including solar partnerships that support electrification and reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

Strategic Importance for Singapore’s EV Ecosystem

The launch of this centre demonstrates Comfort DelGro’s proactive approach in building an EV ecosystem in Singapore. By providing advanced maintenance, high-voltage battery repair, and extensive charging infrastructure, the company supports the broader adoption of EVs across the nation. This facility ensures that the growing EV fleet can be serviced safely and efficiently while promoting sustainable transport practices.

The centre’s operational capacity will be ramped up progressively through the second quarter of 2026, with services already available to fleet partners and the public. By combining cutting-edge technology, workforce development, and sustainability measures, the facility reinforces Comfort DelGro’s leadership in Singapore’s EV transition.

Looking Ahead

Comfort DelGro’s new automotive centre positions the company to meet the challenges of an electrified transport sector while supporting Singapore’s low-carbon mobility goals and advancing innovation in vehicle maintenance and energy efficiency. The facility represents a significant investment in future-ready infrastructure, advanced technology, and technical expertise, ensuring that the company can respond effectively and reliably to the growing and diverse demands of the rapidly expanding EV market.

With its enhanced capabilities, extensive scale, and dedicated EV infrastructure, Comfort DelGro is now better equipped than ever to provide comprehensive EV solutions, from fleet servicing and high-voltage battery management to system diagnostics, advanced charging, and specialized maintenance, cementing its role as a key driver of sustainable and innovative automotive services in Singapore.
