Davao del Norte Economic Growth Reaches 8.3% in 2025
Davao del Norte economic growth reached 8.3% in 2025, making the province the fifth-fastest-growing economy in the Philippines among provinces and highly urbanised cities, according to data released by the Philippine Statistics Authority on 15 October.
The result puts Davao del Norte ahead of the wider Davao Region’s growth picture in a new set of provincial accounts. The Philippine Statistics Authority said Davao Oriental expanded 6.6%, while Davao del Norte’s performance reflected the changing scale of provincial economies that businesses use to assess demand, labour markets and local supply chains.
Davao del Norte economic growth ranks fifth nationally
The 8.3% figure measures real economic expansion from 2024 to 2025, rather than a change in current-price output. The Philippine Statistics Authority’s Provincial Product Accounts release identifies Davao del Norte as fifth in the national ranking of provincial and highly urbanised city growth rates for 2025.
For local businesses, the release is a timely benchmark. A faster-growing province can support activity in trade, transport, construction and services, but the headline rate does not identify a single industry as the cause of expansion. The official release should therefore be read as a measure of overall output, not a forecast of company revenues or new investment.
Why Davao del Norte economic growth matters
Davao del Norte sits within a regional economy estimated at ₱1.14 trillion in 2025. The province’s performance matters to companies that sell into Mindanao, source agricultural products, operate logistics networks or assess where to add capacity outside Metro Manila.
The statistics also provide a more granular view than national gross domestic product figures. Provincial accounts allow investors and policymakers to compare the pace of expansion across local markets, though the data are released with a lag and should be considered alongside current indicators on employment, prices, investment approvals and infrastructure delivery.
What businesses should watch next
The 2025 result is backward-looking, so the next question is whether Davao del Norte economic growth translates into sustained demand and investment in 2026. Businesses will watch the composition of local output, project execution and connections to the broader Davao Region.
For a separate view of investment commitments in the Philippines, see S.E.A. Business Post’s report on Philippine economic zone investment approvals. Those approvals are a pipeline measure, while the provincial accounts record realised economic activity.
