NBI to locate offices in New Clark City

BCDA – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) will soon locate some of its offices in New Clark City. The offices will specifically be located at the National Government Administrative Center (NGAC). This is part of the government’s thrust to decongest Metro Manila and move government offices outside the capital.

The NGAC Phase 1 Joint Venture (NGAC JV) is a partnership between the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) and MTD Clark, Inc. They recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NBI for the acquisition of facilities located within New Clark City.

NBI and NGAC Sign MOU

NBI Officer-In-Charge Director Eric Distor and NGAC JV President Engr. Patrick Nicholas David both signed the MOU. Witnessing the event were, BCDA President and CEO Vince Dizon and NBI Deputy Director for Administrative Services Atty. Eleanor Rachel Angeles.

NBI will have a few offices located in New Clark City. Firstly, NBI’s International Forensics, Biometrics and Research Center. Secondly, a Training Academy. Thirdly, Regional Office & Data Center. Lastly, any other offices in line with the NBI Reorganization and Modernization Act.

NGAC supporting various other government agencies

“NGAC has offered the best facilities for us, providing a state-of-the-art building to various government agencies. NBI cannot fall behind in acquiring such facilities. These facilities will also serve as our back-up office in case of disaster and natural calamities. Above all, we are one step closer to achieving our goals.

We look forward to the successful implementation of our MOU. The MOU will significantly benefit the people by providing them with better public service,” said Distor.

Also present during the signing ceremony were BCDA Vice President for Business Development Arrey Perez, NGAC JV Corporate Secretary Atty. Eric Emmanuel Pasion, and members of the NBI Directorial Staff Assistant Director Atty. Medardo De Lemos, Chief of Staff Atty. Ernesto Macabre, and Deputy Directors Atty. Antonio Pagatpat, Atty. Jose Justo Yap, Vicente De Guzman III, Ferdinand Lavin, Jose Doloiras.

Convenient Location for New NBI Facilities

The new facilities will be in a seven-storey building just across the New Clark City Aquatics Center. It is also a five-minute walk from the government residences. The Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEx)-New Clark City road will provide convenient access to the building. Above all, there will be less congestion.

Located in Capas, Tarlac, New Clark City is the country’s first smart, green, sustainable and resilient metropolis. The Phase 1A site is 40 hectares. It was previously the site of world-class sports facilities used in the 2019 South East Asian Games.
