
Vietjet starts direct service between HCMC and Jakarta
Vietjet launched a direct route connecting Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and Jakarta, Indonesia. This marks the third direct link in their flight network between Indonesia and Vietnam. The airline’s ceremony was graced by Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman Vương Đình Huệ and Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Arsjad Rasjid. Many representatives from both countries leaders and enterprises were also present.
The new Vietjet route offers seven flights weekly. Each flight will last three hours, providing an efficient travel choice between the two urban hubs. The flights connect HCMC and Jakarta, acting as pivotal gateways for tourism and economic activities.
Flights from HCMC depart at 09.35 and arrive in Jakarta at 12.30. The return journey takes off from Jakarta at 13.30 and lands in HCMC at 16.40, all local times.
Vietjet Vice President Nguyễn Thanh Sơn highlighted the route’s significance in enhancing travel accessibility between the two nations. He also highlighted that it will foster business collaborations, trade, tourism, and cultural exchange.
Putu Eka Cahyadi, Director of Air Transportation at DGCA Indonesia, affirmed the positive impact of Vietjet’s route on aviation and travel between the two countries, emphasizing their strategic roles within the ASEAN bloc and the Asia-Pacific region.
Dwi Ananda Wicaksana, Executive General Manager of Soekarno Hatta International Airport, praised Vietjet’s commitment to cost-effective fares and high-quality services, foreseeing a value-added boost to airport connectivity and international flyers’ experience.
Vietjet offers promotional fares
To celebrate the launch, Vietjet introduced attractive promotional fares for the HCMC-Jakarta and HCMC/Hanoi-Bali routes. Customers can secure promotional tickets every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday until the year-end. Promotional tickets start from zero dollars excluding taxes and surcharges. The promotional travel period spans from August 10, 2023, to March 31, 2024.
Additionally, Vietjet offers complimentary Sky Care travel insurance for all passengers, regardless of ticket class, across their entire network.
Besides the new HCMC-Jakarta route, Vietjet will increase flights between Bali, HCMC, and Hanoi, with 84 weekly flights between Vietnam and Indonesia starting August 12. The airline anticipates that these direct connections will facilitate seamless travel for business and leisure travellers while strengthening the bonds between the two nations.
