
StarHub appoints Nikhil Eapen as Chief Executive Officer
StarHub Ltd today announced the appointment of Nikhil Eapen as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Group. The appointment will take effect from 1 January 2021.
Nikhil Eapen brings 20 years of experience in the global ICT sector. Nikhil has been working with senior executive teams to drive growth. He has made synergistic investments in infrastructure and enterprise communications and technology, most recently building and acquiring cloud-centric platforms in IT, cybersecurity and enterprise software. Nikhil will join StarHub from ST Telemedia, a strategic investor in communications and media, data centres, infrastructure technology businesses. He served as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, ST Telemedia and President & Group CEO of ST Telemedia’s Infrastructure Technology (InfraTech).
Prior to ST Telemedia, Nikhil was an investment banker for over 18 years at Citigroup. He was working in the firm’s Hong Kong, New York and South East Asian offices. From 2008 to 2015, he was Managing Director & Head of Asia-Pacific Technology, Media & Telecommunications Corporate & Investment Banking at Citigroup, based in Hong Kong, where he led capital markets and M&A transactions across South East Asia, Greater China, India and the US.
Starhub CEO selection follow strict criteria
In selecting its new CEO, StarHub said key criteria included firstly, strong & decisive leadership. Secondly, senior executive experience in telco and adjacent industries. Thirdly, understanding of the new market dynamics around intense competition. Fourthly, possess a strong track record of successful corporate transformation, enterprise and M&A backgrounds to grow the business. Finally, experience with leading diverse teams to deal with the rapid changes in the highly competitive environment.

Nikhil holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Economics from University College London. He is a Singaporean and married with two daughters and a son.
